Time to tell OPEC to shove it!

The president of OPEC, Chakib Khelil said they would not raise production to help stem the rising cost of fuel prices. He went on to say computer or car makers would not be asked to raise production if the prices were high.  Nice try, but that comparison will not float in this discussion. First of all, in America an alliance such as OPEC would be illegal. Car and computer makers could not legally meet and set production limits without running afoul of US law. So Mr. Khelil needs to get his head out of the sand, (pun intended), and admit that OPEC is enjoying the windfall profit from the price hike, no matter what the cause, and basking in the glory of seeing dependent countries, (such as America), feel the pinch. When you remove the competition factor from a product the users are at the mercy of the producers.

It is time we realize this situation is never going to change as long as we do not control our own destiny. We need to build refineries, drill our own soil for our own oil, turn to atomic energy for power, and stop the cycle of being manipulated by countries that have used technology we invented against us.

No, it won't happen overnight and bring immediate relief at the pump. But, the next twenty years will usher in a new era for America that will guarantee future generations that they will not be held hostage over oil. If we had reacted properly and looked forward during the energy crisis in the 70's we would not be having this discussion.

OPEC is a cartel of greed and power. By becoming energy independent we will render them obsolete. Our oil reserves are larger than those of Kuwait and Saudi Arabia. Imagine the impact it would have on how oil is sold worldwide if we were to become a major exporter.

The rising tide of pro drilling sentiment in the US will be watched closely by OPEC. I would not be surprised to see them make a move to take measures to drastically lower oil prices if they see we are going to change our position and begin exploration and drilling.

If this happens we need to make sure we don't fall for their maneuvers and continue forward in doing what we must to cut our dependency on their oil. If we don't, and let falling prices trick us into thinking the crisis is over, it will only be a matter of time before we are right back in the same situation, only with $8 a gallon gas and diesel.

John McCain's lesson in leadership

Changing your position and becoming enlightened are two very different things.

Barack Obama has accused John McCain of changing his opinion on drilling for oil on US land. While I understand the way the political games are played, I think Obama would be well advised to either steer clear of the oil issue or to embrace the renewed call for oil exploration on our soil.

Accusing someone of doing a flip flop on an issue that is having a negative impact on every American is pretty damn stupid.

When oil is relatively inexpensive, supplies ample, and the price at the pump is low you can continue to support the ban on drilling. But, when the price surges upward and is hurting the working folks it is a responsible move to re-evaluate your position and adjust it to meet the current and future needs.

It is a bold move to look at a situation and say “that was then, this is now”. This is the type of leadership I expect in a President.

Contrast this now with Obama’s position, When asked about high gas prices he responded by saying he would have rather the increase to have been over a longer period of time to give people a chance to adjust better.

So both men have made their energy policy known.

McCain has decided we must become energy independent by tapping our own resources.

Obama doesn’t have a problem with you paying more; he just wants to stretch it out over a longer period of time.

Which sounds Presidential and which sounds idiotic?

Remember folks, we get the government we deserve. Think about that when you treat voting like it’s no more than a sporting event.

An Email To John McCain

The road to victory is clear, be what Obama is not, a real choice.

Mr McCain, you have history calling your name but you're not listening.

If the election comes down to a choice between two 'say anything', 'feel good guys', Obama will mop the floor with you. he's younger, more exciting, and has the press carrying his empty water pail.

Stop catering to fence sitters and liberals who are baiting you into reaching out to them. Their plan is to alienate you from your real base.

Start listening to voices of the real working Americans who want leadership and strength in their President.

If you do that, you'll be able to hear history calling your name.

It is another story the main stream media is not reporting.

The main stream media's job is to prop up the libs and overlook their failures, (and lies). This is expected and I'm to the point it doesn't even make me mad.

But the word has got to get out on this subject and the best source we have is each other.

We need to think of ourselves as a huge news network connected by our values and beliefs, and of course, the web.

We are UNN, the 'Us News Network'.

Hillary is RIGHT!

The modification of the truth, (lying), and future forecasting of results, (wishful thinking), has started. The latest poll out says Obama has an 8 point lead over McCain.

Hillary has been wrong once in this campaign, when she assumed she would be the candidate and agreed not to count Florida and Michigan, which was probably due more to ego than anything else.

She is not wrong however in saying Obama cannot win.

In spite of everything the media will do between now and November to try and induce voters to believe he is leading and will win, Obama will not be president.

There is a lot that we will find out about Obama between now and November, and a lot of it will only serve to lessen the rock star appeal he seems to have. People will find out there is nothing beneath the suit or behind the rhetoric and question his ability to do the job.

The disconnect with white voters of HIS own party will result in more votes for McCain, as will the defection of Hillary supporters who feel disenfranchised over the bitter primaries.

Add to this that McCain is a palletable choice to many moderates and independents, and you have the making of an old fashion a** kicking on election night.

I am telling you here and now, that McCain will win, and win big. Write it down, circle this date on your calendar, or bookmark this page so you can look back and say, "Wow, that Cold Hard Truth guy was right!"

Obama to GOP, "wah, boohoo, stop it, I'm telling!"

The man who would be the democrat presidential candidate needs to grow up and stop whining. If his wife is going to hit the campaign trail and speak on his behalf, then by golly she is going to be held accountable for her words. In his pitiful attempt to demonize the TN GOP, Obama has showed himself to be a cry baby.

Once again a liberal democrat has layed wide open the hypocrisey of his party. The dems have made an art form of attacking the family members of republicans for years. That doesn't make it right, but it does make it the way things are done.

If this is his idea of running a campaign, I can only suggest things are going to get bad for Obama before November. If he lets the GOP goad him into complaining about everything they say or do, he'll end up looking and sounding foolish.

Sean Penn, a facist in the making

Sean Penn is the head judge at the Cannes Film Festival this year. In between publicly violating France's public smoking ban and telling Obama he will have to be a better man that he ever could, (huh?), he announced the criteria for what it will take to be selected as the winning film this year.

He made it known that it is impossible to seperate film from politics and promised the winning film would be a reflection of the current climate.

So, in essence the film makers need only make films for Penn's ego and political views, not paying audiences, if they want to win an award!

That's kind of the way things worked in nazi germany when Hitler was the guy to please! Wow, Sean has ascended from mediocre actor to budding facist a**hole!

Blue State Blues

Driving  in to work this morning I saw a bumper sticker on a truck that read, "Feeling BLUE in a RED state".
(I live in the great, RED, state of Tennessee)

At the next stoplight I pulled up next to the truck and motioned for the guy to roll down his window. I smiled and said, "Hey, I saw your bumper sticker, uh......MOVE!".

Just then the light changed, he flipped me off and drove away. As I watched his gas guzzling, 3/4 ton, dual rear wheel truck dissapear in a cloud of ozone layer killing,  fossil fuel exhaust I wished I had asked him this question, "Say there mister white, southern democrat , do you intend to vote for Obama for president?".

Of course I already knew the answer, this is the guy that Hillary has correctly identified as the democrat that will not vote for a man of color for president. This of course reinforces the fact that the democrats are the party of diversity and multiculturalism in words only.

NICE GUYS FINISH LAST

Is John McCain qualified to be President? I'd say yes.

Is John McCain capable of becoming President? I'd say maybe.

And, if he really thinks the dems will run a civil campaign because he's going to, then perhaps he is NOT qualified to be President.

The Obama camp may indicate it is their intention to be civil, but anyone who has been at least half awake during the last 20 years knows they are just not capable of doing so. It goes against every instinct they have. McCain is going to get hammered from all sides of the democrat machine to the point he'll wonder if his campaign reform bill is being observed. The dems are going to come out of their nomination cycle in panic mode. They are behind and have some serious damage control to take care of due to the nature of the primary fiasco.

The democrat strategy in these situations is to enlist all soldiers on all fronts, (the media), to take every shot at McCain possible. They will say he's too old. They will say he's too conservative while making sure conservatives rememeber he's also too liberal. He will be called a continuation of a Bush Presidency and accused of the standard atrocities all Republican presidents are guilty of. (mainly, just being a Republican)

Obama has no credibility or credentials to run on. he's far left of most liberals in Congress. His charisma will be his platform. In the absence of anything to showcase any presidential qualifications, the strategy will default to the democrat's time tested  politics of personal destruction.

I admire John McCain for wanting to take the high road, but he cannot let the democrats and press define who he is. He had better be ready to take a stand and fire back or get used to saying,  President Obama.

Why Should She Quit?

Howard Dean has finally come out of hiding and spoken, "One of the canidates must quit by June to save the party!".

Wow, what statesmanship! I am so in awe of his masterful politics!

Whew, what's that smell!!! What a load of you know what!

let's see, Obama has, and will continue to have, the delegate lead when the primaries are all complete. So in essence, Dean is saying, "Hillary, YOU must quit in June to save the party." Why should she, What's in it for her? All of the people telling her this same thing are one time allies that have dumped her for the liberal the rock star. They showed her little commitment so why should she show them any.

The truth of the matter is, Dean knows what is in store for the Dems if Hillary stays in past June.

There are several scenarios, none of which will help party unity. If the super delegates, (which by the way, is a stupid title in the first place), decide Obama can't win and swing the nomination to Clinton, they end up with a 98% faction of black voters who are disenfranchised. If they stay with the will of the voters and Hillary continues to the convention, then she continues to hurt Obama's chances in the general election.

So, Dean's brilliant strategy is; treat Hillary like she's stupid and doesn't see through his scheme hoping she'll get out after the last primary if she is still behind in the delegate count.

What an idiot!

McCain needs to stop being such a Ki** A**

In an attempt to attract moderate dems and get raves from the media, John McCain is coming off as a real butt kisser. It's so obvious it makes me sick! His original statement in which he distanced himself from the anti Obama ads in North Carolinda was all that was neccessary in the name of civil politics. I guess he thinks his continued criticism of the ads will inspire the press to proclaim him a nice guy and influence Obama, (should he be the nominee), not to attack him. What a dope!!!  If he really thinks playing kissy face now is going to earn  him any protection in the general election then perhaps he isn't smart enough to be President! The dems and Obama will attack him on everything they can, without regard to being civil. They will actually be out there trtying to win an election. Wow, what a concept!
Earth to McCain, if you want to be a Republican, then by all means, BE A REPUBLICAN.

Who cares what Bloomberg thinks!?

Go here and read this story about Bloomberg's insults directed at Whttp://wcbstv.com/politics/bloomberg.bush.criticism.2.702581.html

Then ask yourself if you really care what this arrogant, Democrat-turned-Republican-turned-independent, fence sitter thinks. He has decided against his own White House run because, well because he knows he'd get his butt kicked!!!!  If you're gonna spew out the crap he has, by all means, jump into the race, make your pitch to the voters, and see if they buy what you're selling!
He knows the answer that's why he has opted for the chicken sh*t course of action, which is to insult and criticize those who have at least tried to make a difference or have the guts to go out and put themselves in the public eye so those like Bloomberg can take cheap shots at them.
His billions of dollars and high powered influence may get him a lot, but it damn sure won't get him respect.

WHAT THE CLINTONS ARE REALLY UP TO....

What’s that smell?   Sniff, sniff, sniff.

Oh my gosh, it’s the Clintons, up to their old tricks again! (like they ever stopped)

I have a sneaking suspicion that Hillary is not waging what appears to be a losing battle against Obama for no good reason.

Quite the opposite, I think they have a reason and a very deliberate long term plan.

The scenario goes something like this;

Hillary takes her campaign all the way to the convention, and why not she has nothing to lose. If she gets the nomination great, she runs for President against McCain.

But, if she goes all the way and loses, she has divided the party, bloodied up Obama, given him less than a month to wage a massive campaign against his Republican rival before McCain-Feingold kicks in, and pretty much set the democrats up to lose in November.

Then, having already told her party that Obama couldn’t win, which will have silenced her critics, she begins her 2012 presidential campaign.

While she might not have been able to beat him in 2008, McCain will be a much easier opponent for her to vanquish after four years, especially with a continuing war in Iraq to frame her platform.

Based on the dynamics of this election cycle, this might just be the perfect scenario that will eventually lead to her being our first female President.

The Clintons are not stupid, quite the opposite. Everything they do and say is carefully

Planned and scripted. While most people are looking ahead to the convention, they are looking ahead to 2012!

So, all of you who are speculating a Clinton loss in 2008 will forever banish them from the political landscape had better stick your nose in the air, take a deep breath, and ask, “What’s that smell?”
